Pardon me while I gouge my eyes out

I’ve tried. I really, really have tried, damnit! But no matter what I do, no matter how hard I throw myself into this game, I just can’t find anything to enjoy… at least not enough to keep featuring it once a month.

I have to admit the truth to myself: I hate “WildStar”.

No, that’s not exactly true. I really like the company that made the game. And it certainly is fun to look at. The storylines are funny, I like the races and classes, at least the concepts involved. But when it comes down to actually playing the game, I have to drag myself, kicking and screaming to the ol’ gaming laptop, just to record the monthly MaMMO episodes that feature “WildStar”.

Why is this? Because this game wasn’t made for me, or players like me.

“WildStar” was built for action-oriented, highly driven players, who love PvP and Progression Raiding. And while in most MMORPGs, the questing experience is more of a casual, laid-back affair, this simply isn’t the case in “WildStar”. Instead, the leveling content is all about driving yourself through constant action, and I’m sorry, but that’s not what I’m looking for, when I play an MMORPG.

While I do enjoy a good challenge, as most every Gamer does, I’m also looking to relax after a long week of work. I look to my MMORPGs to help me unwind, to de-stress, and to prepare for another stressful work-week to come.

“WildStar” isn’t doing that. If anything, I come out of a session of “WildStar” feeling more stressed than I did when I logged in, and that’s just not any fun!

So, while I already have MaMMO videos involving “WildStar” recorded through May, I’m not sure I’ll be sticking with it much beyond that point. I have adopted “Guild Wars 2” as the ‘extra game’ for months when there are five weekends in a month, so maybe I’ll move to GW2 on a regular basis, and move “WildStar” to the ‘extra’ game’ role? Or perhaps I will drop “WildStar” altogether, and bring another game into the mix, instead? Maybe “Anarchy Online”, or “Trove”?

Regardless, if you’d like me to stick with “WildStar” as a featured game in my MaMMO video series, please tell me why in the Comments section down below. Otherwise, expect to see some changes to that series starting this Summer.
